rachel // TTD

We had a blast with Rachel during our latest "Trash the Dress". Water soluble paint was key that day with tempera everywhere. Look for a full clip soon.

finally a free weekend...

We have had a overwhelming past few weeks. Fortunately, it has all been a great experiences. Italy was well..Italy. We would like to thank our couple Joelle and Luca who had a great time and were "all in" the entire scorching day. We will be posting their highlights in the next couple of weeks.
We are looking forward to our next wedding on July 4th at the Hillbrook Club with Stephanie and Eric.

planes, trains and automobiles

We just completed our last wedding and same day edit last weekend for tasha and brandon. They were not only a lot of fun to work with but we felt like family after the whole experience. One of our shooters managed to capture reaction while they were viewing the SDE and it was worth its weight. It was worth everything to our crew.

We are also gearing up to go to Italy to shoot a wedding and also get some much needed rest. It will be part on a very hectic travel schedule this summer. One of the highlights of our trip wil be spending some time in Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera. It will be my second trip there and I highly recommend making it a part of any Italian tour.

The work has piled up and hopefully we will make a dent in our backlog of projects before we go.
Until next time...

Thoughts for the Art of Wedding cinematography

There has been an influx of many new toys and amazing technology to help capture images. We have been fortunate to acquire and use a few of these great tools. But even with all this technology we have also decided to look introspectively and invest in re-examining what we do. Through the inspiration and guidance of our talented colleagues we have refocused our energy on getting to know our couples and spending time paying attention to the little things. We feel this is the key to telling a cohesive and compelling story. We look forward to applying this important philosophy to all of our future projects. Please come along for this exciting journey.

Interesting Challenges

We were recently asked how long we have been in business and why we do not have more weddings posted. We started in the summer of 1999 and did a limited number of projects. At the same time we had diverted some of our efforts to doing corporate and non-profit projects. Our focus shifted from doing wedding videography to more corporate and trade show related work. With the advent recently of more affordable light sensitive cameras and HD we wanted to delve back into doing exclusively weddings. The DVX100 was our first 24p camera and our new approach to wedding cinematography evolved. We still found there was an important component missing...feel and soul. That is when we diverted all our energy toward telling a story instead of merely documenting the day. Handcrafting a true heirloom that can be perpetuated through time. Look for our latest Trash The Dress and other surprises as the summer progresses.
